Writing Prompt Challenge
Today I came across a book that included a vast amount of writing prompts, but this time with a challenging twist! Each page began with a simple writing prompt, but then gave a list of random words that must be included in what is written. This is an excellent resource for educators who are pushing their students to write creatively but want to provide some guidance to help the creative brainstorming process.
You could make the word bank as easy or as hard as you like, but the provided words will give students the opportunity to link the words in a unique way that will make sense alongside the writing prompt.
I love the idea of giving every student in the classroom the same writing prompt, but a different list of words. The students could then compare and contrast their stories to emphasize the importance of details in writing. May I suggest pushing your students to write flash fiction to get the infinite creativity flowing!

(Don't tell anyone, but I used to complete writing prompts for fun!)
Happy writing!
